Ablaze 2008

A small contingent from deepest darkest West Cumbria travelled the 30 miles to Carlisle this weekend to visit the Christians of the north.

We didn't go on Friday night 'cos we had other commitments, but we still managed a fun-packed day followed by a sleepover in Lisa's Room on Saturday night (not that we got much sleep...)

There was lots to do on the day, such as facepainting

(though Georgia doesn't look too impressed)

We could also decorate a biscuit - biscuit-decoration is the new hip thing you know

Obviously Janet's was the best...

Throughout the afternoon there were games and workshops, rehearsals for the evening worship.
And we all got to play our part in the creation of an enormous banner, showing the church being made up of living stones. The stones were made of cloth that we drew designs on using crayons.

Here are two of my favourite 'bricks'

But of course, there's always someone who's not willing to take part, and who'd rather sneak off to eat chocolate and read a book.
